Biography

Susan Fish is a writer, editor, wife, mother, environmentalist, cat owner, cyclist, swimmer, Christian, cook and lover of beauty. She has lived in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada since 1993.

She has a BA (University of Toronto) in English, with minors in French and Religious Studies and an MA (Wilfrid Laurier University) in Religion and Culture with an emphasis on literature.

Susan is passionate about people and stories. She left work as an InterVarsity staffworker when she realized her favourite part of the job was writing newsletters to her supporters. She enjoyed working as the National Director of Communications for Habitat for Humanity Canada before launching her own writing/editing company, Susan Fish Ink, and her family. She is a creative strategist with a knack for telling a compelling story and has worked with a wide variety of organizations over the past eleven years. She specializes in writing for non-profit organizations and charities. During this time, she has had more than eighty articles published in a wide variety of magazines and newspapers, including regular columns, and has written curriculum for a denominational publisher.

Susan has also been recognized for her fiction and poetry, with local and national awards. Her first novel, Seeker of Stars, was published to critical acclaim in 2005, and her essay Here was chosen for inclusion in the anthology Northern Lights: An Anthology of Canadian Christian Writing (2008).
